Lunch with Sandy and Sophie - part 2.

Sandy wants me over for lunch. She’s making tuna penne and isn’t sure I like it, so we head to the grocery first. We fill the basket together, then walk to her place, a house I’ve never seen. I wander the rooms while she pours cold juice. We split the work in the kitchen, chopping and stirring until the penne’s ready. Plates in hand, we step onto the porch. Sun warms our skin as we eat, slow and easy, the afternoon stretching out ahead.
