Sophie stepped into the room and stopped dead at the sight of the boxes and envelopes stacked everywhere. Her eyes widened. So many packages. All for her. She smiled, already undoing the first bow. One by one she peeled the paper, fingers slow, lips parted as each lid came off. A toy appeared. Then another. She traced a fingertip along smooth silicone, testing weight and shape, the corner of her mouth twitching with quiet approval. She set each gift down in a neat row, spread her legs a little wider on the chair, and reached for the next. Her breath caught each time something new slid free. She held the toys close, turning them in her hands, already thinking about later, already wet.
